SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic – Public Works Minister Eduardo Estrella on Friday outlined clear directives for contractors and technical teams, demanding strict adherence to project deadlines and high-quality execution for all state initiatives, while also guaranteeing absolute payment from the government.

Estrella made the remarks during the Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC)'s 91st-anniversary celebration. "The nation expects well-executed projects delivered on schedule," Estrella stated following a eucharist service at the Primada Cathedral. "We guarantee the necessary resources; you must guarantee the quality."

The service was led by Monsignor Carlos Tomás Morel Diplán and attended by Vice President Raquel Peña and First Lady Raquel Arbaje.

The minister extended gratitude to President Luis Abinader for his trust, reaffirming that institutional integrity and a commitment to public engagement would remain hallmarks of his administration. He emphasized the transient nature of public service, saying, "We are but birds of passage, leaving our mark solely through service. We must listen to communities, address their concerns, and support them throughout the process."

Estrella also specifically acknowledged MOPC workers, whom he called "those who uphold the prestige of this institution with their effort." He announced plans for a salary adjustment for this essential personnel.

During his homily, Monsignor Morel underscored the critical role of institutionalism in public office. He urged civil servants to maintain a "human and social sense" in their service to the country.

Following the religious ceremony, Estrella led a wreath-laying ceremony at the Altar de la Patria, honoring the nation's founders.
