
Hondo Valle, Dominican Republic – A new municipal funeral home, aimed at providing dignified services to local families, officially opened Wednesday in Hondo Valle, Elías Piña province. Ángel de la Cruz Hernández, president of the Presidential Commission for Provincial Development Support (CPADP), led the inauguration ceremony.
The modern facility responds to a long-felt community need, offering a dignified, functional, and compassionate space for families during periods of grief. Officials highlighted the government's commitment to the dignity and well-being of Dominican families through such initiatives.
Equipped with two chapels, a reception lobby, administrative offices, an embalming area, and sleeping quarters, the funeral home also includes a kitchen and bathrooms. Its fully enclosed and landscaped grounds align with the standards set by the CPADP for new construction nationwide.
Provincial Governor Migdaly de los Santos, Senator Jhonson Encarnación Díaz, Deputy Luis Castillo Ogando, and Municipal Mayor Donaciano de la Cruz attended the ceremony. They underscored the project's significance as a vital social service and a cornerstone of community support.
The government stated that constructing this funeral home is part of its ongoing efforts to bolster the nation's social infrastructure. It aims to provide accessible, modern facilities that enhance the quality of life for communities, particularly in border and rural regions.
