BONAO, Dominican Republic — The Dominican government has approved funding for several key community projects across Monseñor Nouel province, with Administrative Minister of the Presidency Andrés Bautista García leading the ceremonies to deliver certifications.

Joined by provincial governor Adela Tejada, Bautista García oversaw the allocation of funds for projects in the municipality of Bonao and the municipal districts of Sabana del Puerto and La Salvia–Los Quemados.

Bonao received RD$14 million (approximately $237,000 USD) for the completion of its Municipal Market. The municipal district of Sabana del Puerto was granted RD$16 million (approximately $271,000 USD) to construct a roof for the Jima sports court. La Salvia–Los Quemados received RD$5.18 million (approximately $88,000 USD) for the acquisition of a compacting truck, marking the first time in 23 years the district has obtained such essential equipment for solid waste collection.

During the events held at the respective mayoral offices, Minister Bautista emphasized the positive impact these projects and new equipment would have on local communities.

"President Luis Abinader has always spoken of small works that may not have exorbitant amounts but have a great impact on communities," Bautista said. "That is the president's idea, and, as here, these small works that generate great changes are being sown in other districts and municipalities across the country."

Local leaders, including Bonao Mayor Eberto Núñez, Sabana del Puerto Mayor Fulgencio Antonio Holguín Hierro, and La Salvia–Los Quemados Mayor José Luis Tavárez, all expressed gratitude for President Abinader's consistent support for local governments, which they said fosters their development.
