Welcome to the DRListings Community Forum! This is a place for expats, investors, and real estate enthusiasts to connect, share experiences, and help each other navigate life in the Dominican Republic. To keep our community helpful and welcoming, please follow these guidelines.

Community Do's
- Be welcoming to newcomers
Everyone was new once. Help new members feel welcome and answer their questions patiently.
- Search before posting
Your question may have already been answered. Use the search function to find existing discussions.
- Post in the right category
Choose the most appropriate category for your topic to help others find relevant discussions.
- Use descriptive titles
A clear title helps others understand your topic and find it later through search.
- Share your experiences
Personal experiences and stories are valuable to the community. Share what you've learned!
- Stay on topic
Keep discussions focused on the original topic. Start a new thread for different subjects.
Community Don'ts
- No spam or self-promotion
Don't post advertisements, promotional content, or repetitive messages. Limited self-promotion is allowed in relevant contexts.
- No personal attacks or harassment
Disagree with ideas, not people. Never attack, insult, or harass other members.
- No illegal content or advice
Don't post content that promotes illegal activities or provides advice on circumventing laws.
- No private information sharing
Don't share personal information about others without their consent, including contact details or locations.
- No discriminatory content
Content that discriminates based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, or nationality is not allowed.
- No misinformation
Don't spread false information, especially about legal, financial, or health matters. Cite sources when possible.
Moderation & Enforcement
Our moderators work to keep the community safe and welcoming. Here's what you can expect:
- First offense: A friendly warning or content removal with explanation
- Repeat offenses: Temporary suspension from posting
- Serious violations: Permanent ban from the community
If you see content that violates these guidelines, please report it to our moderators. We review all reports and take appropriate action.
Moderator decisions are made in good faith to protect the community. If you believe a decision was made in error, you can contact us to appeal.
Real Estate Discussion Guidelines
Since DRListings is a real estate platform, we have some specific guidelines for property discussions:
- Share honest experiences with agents, developers, and properties
- Disclose any personal relationships or financial interests when recommending services
- Be cautious with pricing information as markets change quickly
- Legal and financial advice should come from qualified professionals
- Report suspected scams to protect other community members
